Director-at-Large, Suzie Allard
Suzie
Allard is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Sciences at the
University of Tennessee. She teaches courses in digital libraries, systems
analysis, information communication, and collection development. Her research
examines the international adoption of digital library technologies, and the
role of the document creator. Suzie has a doctorate in communication, an MSLS,
and a BA in economics. She also has extensive experience in the corporate
sector. As an independent consultant she led projects for technology
evaluation, strategic product development, and market research in the
entertainment industry. Suzie became a member of ASIS&T in 1999 and
has supported the Society in many ways. She was a founder of SIG-DL and has
served as both the program chair and the chair of SIG-DL. She has also served on
the Membership Committee, the ASIS&T DL task force, the Web Redesign task
force, the Leadership Committee, the Education Committee ,and the Annual Meeting
Program Committee. She is honored to have served as a judge for SIG-III's paper
contest, and as a member of several awards committees including the Watson Davis
Award. Her ASIS&T work has been recognized with the James Cretsos
Leadership Award, SIG Member of the Year, and SOASIS&T's Student Chapter
Member of the Year. She has also organized panels and presented at annual
meetings. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Networked
Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
