Summary

Various information models have been developed to explain information practice; however, this paper suggests the changes brought about by social bookmarking in a Web 2.0 environment require a new type of information practice, which I call information curation. This paper also provides an academic analysis of Pinterest, a new social networking site, as a case study to explore information curation. Information curation describes an alternative type of information practice to account for the social networking, identity construction, and creative expression of the information curator.
