Structural Analysis of Author Vector Space in the Field of Information Sciences
Soohyung Joo and Kun Lu

Monday, 6:30pm

Summary

This study conducted a structural analysis of author relatedness in information sciences by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Terms in authors' publications formed an author vector space in information sciences, and authors' relationships were presented in the vector space. Recently, Lu and Wolfram (in press) explored an author map of authors in information sciences based on vector space model, and identified four distinct research areas using MDS mapping of the author space with Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) modeling. This study further analyzed their findings by applying SEM into the author vector space to detail the explanation of relationships between research areas and associated authors.
