Taught at Drexel University 1969-91, director of APA's project on scientific-information exchange, published more than 200 scientific papers and edited 2 books.  He collaborated with Dr. Henry Small in the early 1970s on the creation of a database that maps scientific research.  Griffith lectured at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and the Institute for Technical Knowledge in Utrecht in 1983, and he helped with the design of studies of Dutch science policies.  He received grants for his research from the National Science Foundation, Public Health Service, National Library of Medicine, and Department of Education.  [For a summary of his life and career, see "In Memory of Belver C.
