Leslie Johnston

Leslie Johnston is the Director of Digital Preservation for the National Archives and Records Administration, USA, with responsibility to develop, maintain, and execute a digital preservation strategy for the agency. Ms. Johnston has over 25 years of experience in the cultural, higher education, and federal community working with digitized and born-digital collections, setting and applying standards and overseeing the development of digital content management and delivery systems and services, including working for the National Archives, the Library of Congress, the University of Virginia Library, the Harvard Design Library, Stanford University Libraries, and the Getty Research Institute. Her areas of expertise include digital collection management system and infrastructure design, digital preservation systems and services, and standards for digital collections. Ms. Johnston speaks and publishes extensively on these topics and provides expertise to national and international projects.
