The Annual ASIS&T Student Design Competition is your opportunity to impress the ASIS&T community with plans for an innovative interactive digital information tool in response to a specified design brief. The prize is free registration to ASIS&T 2018 in Vancouver for all winning team members!
The kick-off session: This year’s brief will be revealed at the kick-off session at 10.30-11.30 on Sunday, October 29 (see https://www.asist.org/am17/sessions/student-design-competition-organizing-session-program/ ). Attend the kick-off session to receive the brief, form design teams, review the procedures and brainstorm initial design ideas.
(Attend this session whether or not you’ve already signed-up to take part online. Attending this session does not commit you to taking part in the competition.)

The presentation session: You will present your design ideas to a jury of industry and academic leaders in Information Science and Technology at the Student Design Competition Presentation session at 12.30 pm – 2.00 pm on Tuesday, October 31 (see www.asist.org/am17/sessions/student-design-competition ). More details on the presentation session will be provided at the kick-off session.
Eligibility: Each design team should consist of 2-6 students and have a maximum of 2 students per institution. We encourage you to attend the kick-off session if you can, but you can still take part in the competition if you can’t make the kick-off.
