Special Project Special Fund

  • The application should be a 1-2 page document; there is no form
  • Due by July 15 (for any event to be given at the Annual Meeting)
  • Submitted by SIG Chair to SIG Cabinet Director
  • Contents include intent of, justification for, and management plan for the funds. Note that funds may not be used to compensate ASIS&T members for the following:
    • Travel expenses unless they are an intrinsic part of an approved SIG project and are specifically outlined in the original request
    •  Expenses incurred at an ASIS&T national or regional meeting unless they are part of an approved project
    • Expenses for breakfast, lunch and dinner meetings.
    • Honoraria to speakers at an ASIS&T national or regional meeting
    • Professional time spent on a project.

SIG Publication of the Year

  • Due July 15
  • Submitted by SIG Chair
  • Due via the electronic submission form
  • Contents include publication title, a brief abstract, and the item
    • SPECIAL NOTE: The term “publication” is used as broadly as possible; submit a newsletter, webinar support materials, digital collections of valuable communication resources, and so on.

SIG of the Year

  • Due July 15
  • Submitted by SIG Chair
  • Submitted via the electronic submission form
  • Contents include your SIG’s accomplishments, activities, and strategic plan development for the past year

SIG Member of the Year

  • Due August 5
  • Submitted by SIG Chair
  • Due via the electronic submission form
  • Contents include a brief nominating letter, list of nominee’s SIG accomplishments, two letters of support, and two items to illustrate the nominee’s work; see the wiki site for specifics
