Text Mining in Libraries: How Librarians Develop Skills Required to Support This Evolving Form of Research

In this talk, Clifford Anderson and Hilary Craiglow of Vanderbilt University will present a case study of library support for several text mining projects at Vanderbilt University.

They will discuss how they licensed the data sources, developed the technology support, and worked with faculty members to enable their research projects. They will also discuss future goals to make library-support for text mining projects scalable across campus.

Clifford Anderson
Director, Scholarly Communications
Clifford Anderson is Director for Scholarly Communications at the Vanderbilt University Library in Nashville, TN. He holds a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a M.S. in Library and Information Science from the Pratt Institute in New York City, among other degrees. Anderson was project director of the National Endowment for the Humanities-sponsored XQuery Summer Institute at Vanderbilt in 2014.
