Trust, Expertise and Value in a Post-AI World

In a world shaped by AI, automation, and accelerating change, trust has never been more important. Librarians are uniquely positioned to navigate complexity, critically evaluate information, and make confident decisions. While emerging technologies, from LLMs to blockchain, promise certainty through systems and automation, the most enduring source of trust remains human: expertise, judgment, and relationships.

This conference explores how libraries and information professionals build trust, demonstrate value, and lead through change in a technology-driven environment. We invite proposals that examine the role of information professionals as trusted advisors, strategic partners, and guides in a changing information landscape. Successful proposals will:

  • Connect research, theory, and emerging trends to professional practice.
  • Demonstrate measurable impact and organizational value.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and lessons learned.
  • Explore how librarians cultivate trust, strengthen relationships, and support informed decision-making.

Join us as we examine the future of special librarianship and the uniquely human capabilities that remain essential in an age of intelligent technologies.
