Welcome to the IDEA (Innovation, Disruption, Enquiry, Access) Institute on Artificial Intelligence (AI) website

We invite you to browse the website to learn about the one-week professional development program for library and information professionals.

The key drivers of the IDEA Institute are:

INNOVATION

Innovation allows information professionals to develop effective and creative solutions to ensure equitable user information access despite limited resources and a competitive technological environment.

DISRUPTION

Becoming more familiar with artificial intelligence's (AI) disruptive qualities can lead to improved information services and user experience. Institutions can then pave individualized steps through AI integration.

ENQUIRY

Enquiry is the key to producing genuine results. Articulating goals through systematic processes allows for the greatest understanding and concrete solutions, especially in AI implementation.

ACCESS

Equitable and effective information access is created by considering socioeconomic status, disabilities, literacy, education, language, internet access, idea diversity, location, and  many other factors.

The IDEA Institute values equity, diversity and inclusion:

The IDEA Institute on AI is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of the program in order to deepen the knowledge and skills of library and information professionals in using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance information access, discovery and services for users, independent of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, and other dimensions of potential inequity.
