AM25 Symposium

Information Behavior Research and Practice in the Age of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (SIG-USE)

The 25th Annual SIG-USE Research Symposium explores the intersection of user-centered information behavior and human-AI. It provides a platform for researchers, students, and professionals to discuss AI's impact on users' information needs and behaviors. The symposium welcomes both conceptual and empirical submissions, and it is open to all ASIS&T and non-ASIS&T members.

More about this Symposium

The 25th Annual SIG-USE Research Symposium will explore the intersection of user-centered information behavior and human-centered artificial intelligence (AI). Since we last convened, AI has only become more ingrained into the infrastructure of our lives, influencing a broad range of activities and interactions from an individual to global scale. As information professionals, we find ourselves at a unique vantage point, affording us the opportunity to better understand how AI is impacting users' information needs and behaviors in real time. This symposium provides a venue for researchers, scholars, students, and professionals to discuss information needs, behaviors, and context in the age of AI and how our work might shape the future of human-AI relationships. We encourage participants to engage with this year’s symposium theme through more conceptual and theoretical submissions, whilst still welcoming traditional research pieces, such as those describing empirical findings. This symposium is open to all ASIS&T and non-ASIS&T members.
