LECTERN SESSION PRESENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The presenter will introduce themself by name and affiliation.
  • The presenter will keep the session on time.
  • The presenter will facilitate the question-and-answer period. When responding to audience questions, please repeat each question, so that all attendees can hear it.

PANEL ORGANIZER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The panel organizer will chair the session and introduce each presenter by name and affiliation.
  • The chair should be familiar with the order of presentations and keep the session on time.
  • The chair will facilitate question-and-answer period. When responding to audience questions, please repeat each question so that all attendees can hear it.

ASIS&T STYLING STANDARDS FOR ALL POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS

  • To ensure a consistent look throughout the meeting, presenters are asked to use the ISS/SLC26 PPT Slide template  when preparing their slide decks.
  • The minimum font size for your presentation is 28 pt.
  • Minimize use of animation.
  • Use video when appropriate. Video can be engaging and help vary the pace of the presentation.
  • Have an image or graphic on at least 90% of your slides.
  • Minimize text. If the audience must choose between reading the slide or listening to you, half of your information will be lost to them because they cannot do both.
  • Minimize clutter. Avoid including too much information on one slide.
  • Colors often appear washed out when projected on a large screen, so use more vibrant colors than you normally would.
  • To make the conference more sustainable, we discourage the distribution of handouts at the conference. Instead, you may upload any documents to the conference app.
