AM26 Workshop
Scaling Up Your Research Network: International Collaboration Strategies
This workshop helps researchers plan engagement in global networks and translate aspirations and connections into strategy. Participants map collaboration pathways and develop an internationalization plan, exploring goals such as visiting positions, broader publishing reach, and leadership roles, including journal editorships. It is particularly valuable for mid-career researchers seeking strategic direction.
More About this Workshop
Researchers are invited to learn about practices and outcomes that support international impact. Workshop participants will first map their current collaborations and visualize how these could evolve in line with goals to broaden the scope and scale of their scholarly networks. Expert panelists will share examples of opportunities and collaborations participants might aspire to, such as sabbaticals, visiting scholarships, and editorship roles for journals and book series. Senior researchers will describe their experiences of multi-institution research projects, international research groups, cross-disciplinary research, and academic and professional service. Finally, group work facilitated by the panelists and senior researchers will support participants in setting one international networking goal and planning how to achieve it. This workshop is prepared by the Research Engagement Committee and is particularly valuable for mid-career researchers seeking strategic direction.
