More About this Workshop

This workshop addresses a critical challenge in the age of artificial intelligence: when AI can design assessments and generate answers, how do we preserve authentic learning, academic integrity, and human expertise? Bringing together academics, students, and library professionals, this co-creative session explores how assessment and learning activities can be redesigned to support meaningful engagement, ethical AI use, and genuine skill development.

Participants will consider risks such as over-reliance on AI, reduced opportunities for critical thinking, and the implications for high-stakes disciplines such as medicine and engineering. The workshop also foregrounds cultural and contextual relevance, including the integration of local and Indigenous knowledge.

Through interactive discussion and collaborative design activities, participants will develop practical, integrity-driven approaches that position AI as a supportive tool while sustaining human judgment, responsibility, and lifelong learning competencies (Bower, 2019; UNESCO, 2023).
