Annual Meeting and Presentation from Wes Osborn of CLC

CO-ASIS&T will hold our annual business meeting on September 25 to share a brief overview of our programs, membership, finances, and administration information from the 2017-2018 year, as well as discuss some of our plans for the upcoming year. The meeting tends to last 10-15 minutes, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Prior to the business meeting, Wes Osborn of the Central Library Consortium will give a presentation.

The Central Library Consortium (CLC) is a resource sharing group of Central Ohio public libraries. Conceived in 1987, from just four library systems, CLC now consists of seventeen systems holding one million unique titles and serving over 1.3 million card holders. CLC assists member libraries in controlling costs and increasing efficiency of library operations, evaluating emerging technology for the library’s needs, helping with authorities and records processing, and other various technical issues facing libraries around the world every day.

Wes Osborn, Executive Director of Information Technology, will discuss some of the aspects of the vision and goals of the Central Library Consortium. Wes has worked for CLC since 2001. Previously he was the project coordinator for Photohio.org, which is now maintained at CLC. Wes has worked in libraries since high school, starting as a page in the Newark Public Library, and promoted to the position of Assistant Systems Administrator.
