SLA Merger Information
ASIS&T will use this space to share information with our current and future members about the plans for and process of merger with the Special Libraries Association. A working group consisting of Heather Kotula, 2025 SLA President-Elect; John DiGilio, 2025 SLA Past President; Christine Pelosi, SLA Director; Julie Smith Maekask, SLA Director; James Manasco, SLA Director; Ian Ruthven, ASIS&T President; Maria Bonn, ASIS&T President-Elect; and Lydia Middleton, ASIS&T Executive Director have crafted the merger framework document linked below. This document lays out the rationale for merger, the various considerations for how merger will impact the members of both associations, and a timeline for the merger process. Please review the document if you have any questions about the merger.
If the document does not adequately address any questions or concerns, please follow the "Provide Feedback" button below to share your questions and thoughts with the working group that will be developing the final merger plan. The public comment and question period ends at 5 pm ET on July 2, so please respond before then if you wish to make comment or ask a question.
Questions and answers will be compiled on the FAQ page so that all ASIS&T and SLA members will have access to that information.
Many thanks in advance for your input to this exciting process!
