2025 Call for Board Nominations

The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) invites nominations for the ASIS&T Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the information science community, contribute to the strategic direction of the Association, and work alongside a diverse and dedicated group of leaders committed to advancing the field.

Available Positions

We are seeking nominations for the following positions on the ASIS&T Board of Directors:

Who Should Apply?

We welcome nominations of ASIS&T members in good standing who demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the mission and values of ASIS&T
  • Proven leadership abilities and organizational engagement
  • A collaborative spirit and innovative mindset
  • A desire to help shape the future of our profession

Members from diverse backgrounds, career stages, sectors, and geographic regions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must meet a professional standard of excellence by demonstrating the following:

  • Be willing to accept a leadership role in the future of our international professional organization
  • Hold active Professional, Student or Retired membership in ASIS&T and have been dues-paying members in good standing for at least:
    • Five of the last ten years prior to nomination for President-Elect and Treasurer
    • Three years for Director-at-Large
  • Have time to dedicate to fulfilling the position responsibilities (See FAQ Page for information on the time commitment) and be willing to participate in scheduled calls at potentially uncomfortable hours of the day or night
  • Have the support of their employer to dedicate time to their responsibilities
  • Be able to travel to up to two face-to-face meetings per year

While all are welcome to apply, candidates with experience and expertise in some or all of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:

  • grant writing;
  • industry/practice experience;
  • academic or industry leadership;
  • partnership development;
  • program management and administration;
  • budget and financial management; and
  • global growth and development.

To Nominate or Apply
This year we are utilizing iConnect to accept Applications for the Board of Directors. You may nominate a colleague to apply or may apply yourself. ASIS&T is not notified if you nominate a colleague unless they apply. The Nominations Committee will consider all applications in determining a slate for the election. The slate will consist of one candidate for each open seat.
