How to Join
To be a member, one first needs to be a member of the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T). When completing the Membership Application Form, select the Chapter of your choice.

Africa Chapter Logo Announcement
The Africa Chapter proudly presents its new logo, designed by Muhammad Tariq, a member of the ASIS&T South Asia Chapter. There were four qualifying submissions (from paid-up ASIS&T members), and Muhammad's logo received the most votes. Congratulations, Muhammad, on designing the Chapter's intellectual property for its identity, which will be used in all its official communications and branding materials.
2026 Chapter Chair-Elect (three-year commitment)
All ASIS&T Chapters are seeking candidates for Chair-Elect for the 2026-27 year. A Chapter Chair-Elect automatically advances to Chair the following year and Immediate Past Chair the year after.
Please note that the Chapter Bylaws require that chair-elect candidates have been members for at least one year before serving as a chair-elect. By submitting your application, you are volunteering to run for election as Chair-Elect and commit to remaining an active member of ASIS&T throughout your leadership term. The Chapter Nominations Committee will make a final determination as to who will be on the election slate.

Our ASIS&T Africa Chapter Chair, Dr. Connie Bitso, was recognized as the Librarian of the Month for June 2026 byLibrarian Spotlight Africa (LSA). Dr. Bitso serves as theDirector of the University of Fort Hare Libraries, Chairperson of the SEALSManagement Committee, and was elected CHELSA Chair-Elect on 23 June 2026.
