Simmons SLIS Partners with UMA to provide accelerated path to MSLIS degree

Simmons University School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) created a partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) to provide an accelerated path to the Master of Science in Library and Information Science degree for students in their Bachelor of Library Science program. UMA students in the BLIS program can apply to SLIS using a streamlined application process that waives application fees. Admitted students will receive credit for two graduate courses toward their MSLIS degree and have the option to take up to six graduate credits or two courses from Simmons during their undergraduate program.

SLIS is committed to expanding access and affordability in graduate education. This partnership with UMA reflects those principles, offering students a faster and more cost-effective path to the professional degree that will launch their careers in library and information science.
