Getting Libraries to Web-Scale

Andrew Pace, always entertaining and informative, will speak at the December gathering of the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Society for Information Science & Technology (CO-ASIS&T). Plan to attend his presentation on Tuesday, December 7, 2010: “Getting Libraries to Web-scale”

Last year, Andrew Pace talked about the web-scale landscape for libraries. This year he’s back to talk about some real-life experiences in moving libraries to the cloud and providing traditional local system functionality in the cloud. In July 2010, OCLC released Web-scale Management Services to a handful of Pilot and Early Adopter Libraries. Several other library providers are busy providing hosted, SaaS, and cloud-based applications. Pace will discuss this trend and what it means for providers, libraries, and their patrons.

WHEN: Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Refreshments, Sign-In & Networking 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Presentation and Q & A
