ASIS&T Seeks JASIST Editor-in-Chief

The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Board is looking for a new Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of the Association of Information Science & Technology, the official journal of the ASIS&T, who has the expertise  to drive the journal forward.

The Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST) is a leading international forum for peer-reviewed research in information science. For more than half a century, JASIST has provided intellectual leadership by publishing original research that focuses on the production, discovery, recording, storage, representation, retrieval, presentation, manipulation, dissemination, use, and evaluation of information and on the tools and techniques associated with these processes.

The Editor in Chief will provide an editorial vision and leadership for the journal, assuring its continuing relevance and helping connect the highest quality of published scholarship to the broadest possible audience.

The successful candidate will be a senior scholar in information science or a cognate field, with a strong record of scholarship and publication. At least 3 years of experience in an editorial capacity and publication management experience is highly desirable.The candidate who has strong involvement with ASIS&T and/or JASIST will be strongly preferred.

The new Editor-in-Chief will serve a five-year term beginning in January, 2021. The position is renewable. The EiC will receive an annual stipend and will be supported by an assistant. The EiC is expected to spend an average of  20% FTE time equivalent on their editorial responsibilities.
