Dr. Khalid Mahmood - How to Publish your Research in an Impact Factor Journal?

Abstract:

According to the Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers Report 2021, 48,000+ scholarly journals are being published. Academicians, researchers, and experts in the field are interested to get published in academic and scholarly Journals especially in ‘Journal Citation Reports (JCR)’ or Impact Factor (IF) Journal. Journal IF is a ratio that divides a journal’s received citations by the count of its published articles. These scholarly journals have a commonly low acceptance rate. If you want to publish articles in IF Journals for a job or a promotion, to disseminate your work or research findings to a particular audience, to have political, social, or scientific implications for change, to contribute to the intellectual discussion or scientific debate, to generate new knowledge, or passionate about your subject area, this workshop is for you. It will guide you about selecting a suitable journal, building your manuscript, formatting and submission of a manuscript, reviewing and publishing process, addressing reviewers’ comments, and enhance your probability to get published in high IF journals.

About Dr. Mahmood:

Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood is a Professor of Information Management at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. Currently, he is Dean of Faculty of Information and Media Studies (Former Dean, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences and Director, Institute of Information Management) at the university. With a qualification of post-doctoral research at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, and more than 30+ years of experience in the field of education, Prof. Khalid Mahmood has more than 200 publications and has supervised many doctoral, M.Phil. and masters’ theses. He also works for many research journals as an editor, reviewer, and editorial board member.

Dr. Shakil Ahmad - BiblioMaster: A Bibliometric Tool for Data Analysis

Abstract:

Bibliomaster is a unique bibliometric software. It was developed by a group of librarians and senior library professionals based on their experience. It is used for bibliometric analysis. It includes many features which are not available in another bibliometric tool. It is used for Scopus, web of science, and PubMed databases. There are six main features included in this software like Basic analysis, Country analysis, Statistical analysis, Topic analysis, publication title, and export data. Firstly, download the data from Scopus and Web of Science in plain text and export the file from the Biblioshiny software for bibliometric analysis in this software.

About Dr. Mahmood:

Shakil Ahmad did his master’s in library and Information Science (MLIS) from Aligarh Muslim University, India. He has 17 years of professional experience in academic libraries and currently working as a Lecturer and liaison librarian at the deanship of library affairs, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Dammam. Saudi Arabia. He is also teaching a library skills course at the College of Engineering, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and published more than forty research and conference papers in reputed journals. His research areas are Information literacy, library service quality, bibliometric, and Scientometrics.

Professor Nosheen Fatima Warraich, PhD

Nosheen Fatima Warraich is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Information Management. She received her PhD in 2011 and was privileged to get a Fulbright Fellowship to complete her Post Doctorate from State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, USA in 2015-16. Dr. Warraich has a good number of journal articles, conference papers, books and book chapters on her credit. She has been actively involved with ICIM&L, A-LIEP and ICADL. She is active in ASIS&T and serves in different capacities. She is the winner of Info-share award twice, ASIS&T New Leader Award 2017-19 and SIG/III (International Information Issues) International Paper Contest (IPC) award in 2017. Currently she is serving as chair of the international paper contest of SIG-III.

Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam

Md. Anwarul Islam is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka. He received a Ph.D. from the School of Knowledge Science, JAIST, Japan. His primary research areas are KM, information behavior, and informetrics. He was a visiting fellow at iSchool, SLAIS@UBC, Canada; ACRC Fellow at NTU, Singapore and VLIR-UOS Scholar at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He is a New Leaders Awardee of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) and received the James M. Cretsos leadership award in 2021. Anwar has held various leadership positions in ASIS&T. He is now serving as Co-Chair of SIG-III and advisor of the South Asia Chapter of ASIS&T.
