2023 ASIS&T Annual Meeting

2023 Annual Meeting, 27-31 October 2023, London, UK

The theme of the meeting is “Making a Difference: Translating Information Research into Practice, Policy, and Action”

The global citizenship is facing multiple challenges: recovery from the worst pandemic in a century, economic depression, existential threats from climate change, and the reversal of hard-won civil liberties. Information research is often undertaken to alleviate the effects of such challenges by improving decision-making, creating effective models of information provision, creating empathetic information services, designing infrastructures for open data, and understanding the power of information to develop human happiness, equality, and wellbeing. But how does our information research lead to these outcomes: how can we release the transformational power of information research and translate our findings into positive difference to how lives are lived? To achieve positive change, we need to consider what processes are effective in developing new ways of working with information, appreciate the challenges of translating excellent research into excellent practice and policy, and understand how to evaluate the difference we have made to the lives of others. As the premier international conference in the field, the ASIS&T Annual Meeting is a forum to assist in addressing these issues as we continue to push forward the positive contributions of information and technology. Watch the website for further details which will be added as the program is planned https://www.asist.org/am23/

The Annual Meeting will be a fully face-to-face meeting. No virtual attendance or presentations will be available (except for virtual workshops). No prerecording of presentations will be allowed.
