The standards committee voted APPROVE on

ISO/FDIS 233-3 (Ed 3), Transliteration of Perso-Arabic characters into Latin characters — Part 3: Persian language

This document establishes a system for the transliteration of the Persian characters (often called Perso-Arabic script) into Latin characters. This modification of the stringent rules established by ISO 233 is specifically intended to facilitate the processing of bibliographic information (e.g. catalogues, indices, citations, etc.).
