SIG-AI is seeking proposals for the ASIS&T SIG-AI Workshop, Building AI and Navigating AI Regulatory and Policy Landscapes.
This workshop aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, and users to examine experiences and perceptions of AI development and governance across diverse settings. It comprises (i) a hands-on training session in which participants will build and evaluate AI tools and agentic systems using both code-based and no-code approaches within the TACTIC framework, and (ii) research presentations accompanied by critical discussion of ongoing challenges and emerging research.
The key question guiding this workshop is:
- What is the scope of AI regulations, including material (what is regulated?), personal (who is regulated?), territorial (Where do they apply?), and temporal (when do they apply?) dimensions?
Who Should Submit?
We encourage submissions from a wide range of voices, including scholars, practitioners, students, and first-time ASIS&T presenters.
