ASIS&T Scholarship Winners
ASIS&T received a remarkable 187 applications for the five $5,000 tuition scholarships we are able to offer this year. The competition was fierce!
Applicants were evaluated on several criteria including their commitment to the profession, their interest in and engagement with ASIS&T and/or, previously, SLA, and the quality of their essay which described how receiving the scholarship would benefit their career in librarianship/information science.
There were so many applications this year that the Scholarship Committee had to solicit additional volunteers to review applications. The Committee wishes to extend its thanks to Tom Rink, Valerie Perry, Dorothy McGarry and Stacey Greenwell for stepping up and reviewing with very short notice!
