In Memoriam – Vicki Gregory

ASIS&T was saddened to learn of the passing of long-time member Vicki Gregory on January 4. Vicki joined ASIS&T in 1983 and, during her membership tenure, served in the leadership of several SIGs and Chapters, served as Treasurer of ASIS&T from 2008 to 2015, and was awarded the Watson Davis Award for Service in 2015. Vicki was awarded Distinguished Member status in 2022.

Dr. Gregory spent most of her career at the University of South Florida, Tampa, starting in 1976 as an Assistant Professor in the School of Library and Information Science. She subsequently was promoted to full Professor and from 1999 to 2007, Dr. Gregory served as Director of the School of Library and Information Science, providing visionary leadership during a period of significant change in the profession. Her dedication to excellence in library education helped shape the school’s national reputation.
