Build AI Literacy in Your Community, in Your Classroom, or at Home

AI literacy is the ability to understand, interact with, and evaluate the accuracy of AI tools and the content that they produce. It's important to understand both the potential and the limitations of AI tools, so that we can make informed decisions based on the information they provide. Building AI literacy is key to using these digital tools productively and responsibly.

Discover AI literacy resources at InformationLiteracy.gov, a website from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Whether you're looking to teach AI literacy skills, plan AI literacy programming, or boost your own knowledge of AI tools, InformationLiteracy.gov has something for everyone. You can:

The Information Seeking in Context (ISIC) conference is the academic home of the Information Behaviour research community. The biennial conference focuses on contextualized information activities, expressed in different forms such as 'information behavior', 'information practice', 'information seeking', 'information experience' and others. ISIC conferences promote the interdisciplinary study of information research influenced by fields such as information science, information studies, library studies, communication studies, computer science, education, information management, information systems, management science, psychology, social psychology, sociology, and other disciplines. UNC-CH SILS: New School Name
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Information and Library Science and School of Data Science and Society will join forces to form a new school – the School of Data and Information Sciences – which will launch on July 1.

The work of creating the new school has been underway since last October. The process of selecting a name for the school was a collaborative endeavor and included gathering input from multiple stakeholders.

All existing programs, including the BSIS, MSIS, MSLS, and PhD will remain, and their commitment to libraries, archives, and the information professions will continue. This new configuration will allow the school to expand the services, support, and educational opportunities they provide to students, faculty, and alumni, and enhance the educational experiences they offer to next generation information professionals.
