Describing her vision for the Journal, Dist/Prof Given said, “I am very honoured to take on this role and continue showcasing the important contributions of scholars in information science and technology disciplines. As information and technologies evolve and shape our workplaces, homes, schools, and everyday lives, research of the highest quality is critical to understand our world, and to guide policy and practice change. I look forward to working with the ASIS&T Board and the Editorial Board to ensure JASIS&T continues to be a leading voice for information science and technology research, globally."
In announcing the selection, ASIS&T President Maria Bonn said, “The ASIS&T Board is delighted that Dr. Given has agreed to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of JASIST. Lisa brings with her both an outstanding reputation as a scholar and excellent editorial experience. She has been at the helm for the relaunch of ARIST and has renewed that journal’s vitality and presence in our community. Her vision for the future of the Journal aligns with the strategic directions of ASIST, and we are confident that our flagship publication will remain the preeminent journal in our field under her leadership."
