Du Named ARIST Interim Editor-in-Chief

Professor Jia Tina Du of Charles Sturt University has been selected to be the Interim Editor-in-Chief of the Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST). Tina will be serving the remaining term made vacant with the appointment of Lisa Given who was just appointed JASIST Editor-in-Chief.
Professor Jia Tina Du is Head of the School of Information and Communication Studies and Professor of Information Sciences at Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia.
The Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (ARIST) is a collection of peer-reviewed, comprehensive, and systematic reviews on topics relevant to information science, computing science, technology studies, and related fields. Published under the banner of Wiley’s Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology (JASIST), ARIST’s goal is to update readers on the latest developments in these fields.
Describing her vision for ARIST, Professor Du said, “It’s my great pleasure and honour to take on this role, and I am committed to leading ARIST to remain the premier venue and first choice for publishing review articles in library and information science, computing science, technology studies, media studies, and their intersections. I look forward to working with the ASIS&T Board and the Editorial Board to ensure that ARIST continues to keep authors and readers at the forefront of advances across the broad information sciences."
In announcing the selection, ASIS&T President Maria Bonn said, “The ASIS&T Board is very pleased that Dr. Du has agreed to serve as the interim Editor-in-Chief of ARIST. Tina has worked with ARIST since its relaunch, and her passion and expertise will ensure the continuing success of the journal at this crucial phase in its redevelopment. ARIST has long been an important part of the intellectual and professional development of many of our members. Dr. Du’s leadership will continue that tradition for both long-time and early career scholars."
Since 1937, the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) has been the only professional association that bridges the gap between information science practice and research. For more than 80 years, ASIS&T has been leading the search for new and better theories, techniques, and technologies to improve access to information. Members share a common interest in improving the ways society stores, retrieves, analyzes, manages, archives and disseminates information.
