The inaugural ASIS&T Information Science Summit and Special Libraries Conference (ISS/SLC26) brought together information professionals, researchers, educators, and practitioners for an inspiring week of learning, collaboration, and community building. Based on results from the post-event attendee survey, the meeting delivered a highly positive experience, with participants praising the valuable educational content, welcoming atmosphere, and meaningful networking opportunities. The event earned a strong average likelihood-to-recommend score of 85.74 out of 100, and many respondents indicated they plan to return for ISS/SLC27.

The conference opened with an exceptional keynote from Dr. Stephanie Moore, which emerged as one of the most highly praised elements of the entire meeting. Attendees described the presentation as engaging, thought-provoking, and highly relevant to the conference theme. Many appreciated the keynote's exploration of AI literacy, technological change, and the ethical dimensions of our rapidly evolving information landscape. The session set an energizing tone for the conference and sparked conversations that continued throughout the week.

One theme appeared repeatedly throughout attendee feedback: connection. Participants highlighted reconnecting with longtime colleagues, meeting new professionals, and experiencing the energy created by bringing together members from both the ASIS&T and SLA communities. Many described the conference as supportive, friendly, and engaging, with networking opportunities ranking among the most appreciated aspects of the event.

Of course, ISS/SLC26 was about more than outstanding educational sessions. Once the day's learning concluded, attendees had plenty of opportunities to relax, network, and celebrate together. Popular social activities included networking receptions, exhibit hall gatherings, meals shared with colleagues, and the much-talked-about karaoke & dance party. Several community events took place as well eg.: SNIPs Meet-Up, SIG-CMR Dinner, Fellows Dinner, Solos and Small Staff Community Meet-Up, Engineering Community Dinner, PAM Community Dinner, and SIG-BIZ Meet-Up just to mention a few. Survey respondents specifically mentioned the dance party, karaoke, lunches, and informal opportunities to connect as some of their favorite conference memories, demonstrating that professional development and fun make a winning combination.

The conference concluded on an inspiring note with the closing plenary panel, which provided attendees with an opportunity to reflect on the ideas, conversations, and connections formed during the event. As participants headed home, the prevailing sentiment was one of optimism, collaboration, and excitement for the future of the information profession. The enthusiasm expressed in the post-event survey suggests that ISS/SLC26 successfully achieved its goal of bringing together diverse voices for meaningful learning, networking, and community building.
