Catherine Dumas: "I have been appointed to the position of Director of IT Training for the New York State (NYS) Information Technology Services (ITS) agency. Overseeing the development, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive technical training programs for employees across the agency. Responsible for all aspects of the technical training lifecycle, from needs analysis and curriculum design to content creation, delivery support, and ongoing maintenance."

Africa S. Hands, assistant professor of information science at the University at Buffalo, co-edited with Shelly Buchanan “The Self-Determined Doctorate: Perspectives on Leading the Doctoral Journey.” The new book was published by De Gruyter Brill as part of its Doctoral Journey in Education series. Drawing on self-determination theory, the peer-reviewed volume brings together narratives from scholars who reflect on how support of their basic psychological needs shaped their doctoral experiences. The contributors who studied in the United States, Sweden, and Australia across fields such as library and information science, history, and education.

Nathan Rosen Presented "Utilizing Free Gen AI Programs to Prepare Profiles of People and Companies" at the American Association of Law Libraries conference on July 21, 2026 and the Cool Tools Cafe on July 19th.

From February to August 2026, Dr. Mega Subramaniam served as a Fulbright Scholar at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Supported by the Fulbright Scholar Program and the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, she engaged with the library and information science community across Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Dr. Subramaniam’s work focused on delivering professional development for librarians and library educators, with a particular emphasis on how the field can better serve communities facing barriers to information access.
