Additionally, she will address how Kuwait can enhance its infrastructure to align with advancements in AI and fully leverage its potential.
Presenter
Dr. Hend Alqaderi is a Public Health Researcher at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait and an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from Harvard University and holds two certificates in Applied Artificial Intelligence from MIT, as well as a certificate in Health Economics from the University of Washington. A Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health, she also served as faculty and Program Director for the Dental Public Health Residency at Harvard University.
Dr. Alqaderi has received several prestigious awards, including the L'Oréal-UNESCO Award for Talented Women in Science, Harvard University’s Lois Cohen Prize for Excellence in Global Health Research, and the Leverett Graduate Merit Award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.
In addition to her academic roles, she is a Visiting Scientist at the J. Craig Venter Institute in San Diego and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
In 2023, Dr. Alqaderi delivered a TED Talk in Doha, Qatar, on her groundbreaking research on saliva and its link to systemic diseases. She has authored over 30 publications and is currently leading projects on medical and dental AI in healthcare.
