Oceania Chapter:
Oceania Chapter Project Grant Approved
The ASIS&T Board has recently approved the Oceania Chapter’s Project Grant Request to support member attendance and ASIS&T visibility at the RAILS Conference.
The Research Applications in Information and Library Studies (RAILS) is an annual conference for information and library studies research which has been held since 2002 in Australia and New Zealand. The conference brings together researchers, educators and practitioners to "encourage a culture of informed and innovative research practice." (RAILS website). The conference usually attracts 50-60 participants and is hosted by a different institution each year in Australia or New Zealand. RAILS is significant as the only LIS research focused event in our region, with around 20 current ASIS&T members having been involved in presenting at or organising past conferences. This year’s conference is hosted by Charles Sturt University, with leadership from Prof. Tina Du and Dr Niloofar Solhjoo, and involvement of 13 other members on the program committee.
