Research Wing

The Research Wing of the Special Interest Group for International Information Issues (SIG III) of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) was established to facilitate informal but lasting and fruitful research collaborations and for capacity building of researchers in library and information related disciplines.

We are calling for applications for mentors and mentees until 01st of March 2023. Please complete the online application through the link given below. Only the SIG-III members can apply as mentors and mentees. If you are not a member, we invite you to obtain the membership and join the initiative.

  • Mentors must have a successful track record of publishing research in reputed venues/publications.
  • Mentors and mentees can work together to design and implement a new research project or work in existing projects.
  • They should be willing to work collaboratively for a period of one year starting from July 2023 towards the end of June 2024.
  • A memorandum of understanding will be signed after the mentor/mentee selections are finalized.
  • All communications must be carried out through the i-Connect platform.

Mentors and mentees will be matched by SIG-III Research Wing based on the following criteria.

  • Research interests of mentees and expertise of mentors
  • Availability of mentors
  • Type and level of guidance needed by mentees
  • Expertise and track record of mentors and mentees.
  • Ensure regional representation and equality
