Call for Mentors and Mentees

The Research Wing of the Special Interest Group for International Information Issues (SIG III) of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) was established to facilitate informal but lasting and fruitful research collaborations and for capacity building of researchers in library and information-related disciplines.

We are calling for applications for mentors and mentees to sign up for this exciting opportunity by the 21st of March, 2024. Please complete the online application through the link given below.

Only SIG-III members can apply as mentors and mentees. If you are not a member, we invite you to obtain membership and join the initiative.

  • Mentors and Mentees will work collaboratively for one year from June 2024 to June 2025.
  • Mentors and mentees can work together to design and implement a new research project or work on existing projects.
  • All communications must be carried out through the i-Connect platform.
  • Mentor and Mentees will sign a memorandum of understanding after the "match".
  • Mentors and mentees will be matched by SIG-III Research Wing based on the following criteria.
    • Research interests of mentees and expertise of mentors
    • Availability of mentors
    • Type and level of guidance needed by mentees.
    • Expertise and track record of mentors and mentees.
    • Ensure regional representation and equality.
  • All communications must be carried out through the i-Connect platform.
  • The matches will be announced in the first week of April 2024.
