Research Wing: Call for Mentors and Mentees 2026–2027

The Research Wing of the Special Interest Group for International Information Issues (SIG III) of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) was established to facilitate informal but lasting and fruitful research collaborations and for capacity building of researchers in library and information-related disciplines.

We are calling for applications for mentors and mentees to be a part for this exciting opportunity from April 30th To 15th May 2026. Please complete the online application through the link given below.

Only SIG-III members can apply as mentors and mentees. If you are not a member, we invite you to obtain membership and join the initiative.

  • Mentors and Mentees will work collaboratively for one year from June 2026 to June 2027.
  • Mentors and mentees can work together to design and implement a new research project or work on existing projects.
  • All communications must be carried out through the i-Connect platform.
  • Mentor and Mentees will sign a memorandum of understanding after the "match".
  • Mentors and mentees will be matched by SIG-III Research Wing based on the following criteria.
  • Research interests of mentees and expertise of mentors
    • Availability of mentors
    • Type and level of guidance needed by mentees.
    • Expertise and track record of mentors and mentees.
    • Ensure regional representation and equality.
  • The matches will be announced in the last week of may 2026.
